Who creates the guides?

Guides are edited by Alex Hartley, the pen name of the site's owner-editor. Alex researches each shortlist from public manufacturer information, checks buyer-relevant specifications against the linked sources, and writes the editorial judgements — with AI-assisted drafting for structure and consistency, reviewed before publish. We use a pen name for personal privacy, and in exchange we hold the content to a stricter standard: every material product fact on the site links to its source, and nothing claims hands-on testing unless it actually happened and is documented.

How are products selected?

Each guide starts with a specific use case, such as USB-C monitors for laptop desks or webcams for home-office video calls. Products are shortlisted only when key specifications can be checked against public sources. Every product card links to the source pages used for material facts.

Why does the site avoid prices and star ratings?

Prices, availability, ratings, and review counts can change quickly and are easy to misrepresent. Top Tech Reviews avoids publishing exact prices, customer-rating claims, or review counts unless a compliant current source is available and the page can keep the information accurate.
